Building the world’s first privacy-first AI Code Editor
WhoseDev blends fast developer workflows with verifiable privacy. We design every feature so your code, prompts, and credentials stay under your control on device by default, masked when routed, and transparent end-to-end. We’re building the foundational privacy layer for developer workflows in the era of LLMs a Code Editor that unlocks enterprise LLM adoption by delivering verifiable privacy controls without compromising developer velocity.
Our mission
WhoseDev puts developers in control of AI without compromise. We believe privacy is not a checkbox to tick at the end of a project: it must be the architecture from Day One. So we built a Code Editor that protects code, secrets and IP by design while delivering the speed and flow developers expect. Inside WhoseDev, secrets are detected and masked on your device before any request leaves your machine. A powerful Policy Engine enforces workspace-level rules that decide what can be sent, to which vendors, and which regions. Use any model you trust OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Grok, or your own self-hosted models and bring your own keys. Everything is auditable, configurable, and deployable on premises or in a VPC for the teams that need it. We ship productivity smart code suggestions, inline AI help, safe code generation and fast refactors but never at the cost of custody. That means faster shipping, fewer compliance headaches, and the confidence to use AI across products and dev teams.
Mask sensitive context locally, route with guardrails, and unmask only on device.
Bring your own keys, models, and tools. We meet you where your stack lives.
SSO, roles, audit, VPC & on-prem options—with developer-first ergonomics.
By default, we do not use your code or prompts to train models. Raw PII and secrets are detected and masked locally on your device and are not stored or used outside your control unless you explicitly opt in or configure otherwise. Our defaults prioritize custody and auditability.
AI can accelerate engineering but handing raw code, secrets, or PII to vendors by default breaks trust, compliance, and IP protection. WhoseDev flips that model: teams get the productivity benefits of LLMs while keeping custody of the data that matters. That lowers legal risk, unlocks enterprise adoption, and makes the developer experience safe for real work.

Values
No dark patterns, no hidden egress. Clear controls and visible redaction.
Latency matters, but never at the cost of your data boundary.
Everything should feel native to your workflow CLI, Git, editor, terminal.
Composable integrations, BYO keys, and model portability.
We treat privacy and security as product features, not checklists.
From UI polish to DX details sharp edges are smoothed, defaults are sane.
